YOUTH ALL S.T.A.R. PROGRAM [ Soccer, Tutoring, Arts, and Recreation]

The Refugee Youth All S.T.A.R. Program provides weekly opportunities for youth, grades K-12, to establish a social network and life skills within a positive healthy environment. Activities include:

Soccer -  Participants, meet Saturday mornings with volunteer coaches 10am to 12pm in Fullerton,CA. During each meeting of this 21-week program, soccer participants learn a theme that is incorporated into their drill work, including leadership, sportsmanship, responsibility, respect, perseverance, and confidence.

Tutoring -  Tutoring gives students who are struggling to adjust to their new academic setting one-on-one attention with volunteer mentors. By holding our tutoring session in the comfort of their homes, transportation is not a barrier and they can learn good study habits in their own environment.

Arts & Recreation -  Participants of our youth programming are invited to recreational activities and field trips that incorporate art therapy.  While not a licensed art therapy program, the intrinsic healing of art helps youth explore their backgrounds, trauma, and identity in a place that is made just for them. Our Arts and Recreation programs helps foster a new generation of confident and well-integrated future adults.

Monthly Diaper Program - Due to limitations with government assistance, many families struggle to purchase this essential item for their babies. To address this need in the community, local community members are invited to host monthly drives. With the support of your donations, Tiyya's distribution takes place on the 15th of each month.

School Supplies - To ensure our youth are sent off to school excited and prepared, Tiyya hosts an Annual Back to School Celebration each August. Please call our office if you would like to support with the 2018 event. *Note - backpack and school supply donations are collected during the summer months*

L.E.A.D PROGRAM [Leadership, Education, Advancement, and Personal Development]

With the support of Friends of Tiyya, this program is designed for families of refugees, immigrants, and displaced American families. Program participants receive individualized mentorship, workforce training, and opportunities for personal development. Activities include:

Family Mentoring -  Essential to the success of program participants, family mentors are Tiyya-trained community volunteers who provide formal and informal social support for youth and their families.
